Leaning Tower

This cat condo design pays homage to the great cathedral belltower of Pisa, Italy, renowned for its canting to one side over the ages.

It is weighed down by a painted wood base, with three detachable shaft pieces for moving and cleaning.  This piece was fabricated using plaster of Paris on a compressed paper tube coated with several layers of gesso and paint.  Carpeted interior steps provide quick access to the top perch.  Peek-a-boo arches alternate with faux-painted arches, giving one a view into the cats’ ascension.

The base measures 36″ wide by 36″ deep and the tower measures 67″ tall.
